Happy New Year!

It’s the last day of 2010 and I’m chillin’ infront of the TV eating leftover Christmas food. I know, I’m so wild. I’m afraid I haven’t had the chance to edit together all my Christmas footage so you’ll have to wait until NEXT YEAR. Har har, let the bad new year jokes begin. In lieu of that, here is an unrelated video from our past, which I found while uploading everything from the camera. It needs no introduction, nor explanation (mainly because I don’t think there is one).

I’m off to go house party hopping, so I’ll talk to you NEXT YEAR heh heh. Have a good night!

Buon Natale!

Hello!

I am on the computer at Gio’s work. It has the world’s strangest keyboard. You have to press Shift to type numbers and full stops, for one.

Christmas with family in Turin was lovely. So much food. Antipasti, then amazing ravioli, then meat and potatoes and onions and artichokes, then the best panettone ever, a huge tray of mini pastries from a local pasticceria, and the biscuits I had brought. We ate for about four hours and then played multiple rounds of Tombola, which is like Bingo except it’s Tombola. It was proper gambling with real money, too. I made a profit.

I even got presents! Bath stuff and chocolates and Gio bought me Il Piccolo PrincipeThe Little Prince in Italian (which I believe you bought for Kiara) :’)

I’m not typing much because this keyboard is so incorrigible, but I just wanted to get something down so it can be your turn again.

I’m going back to Milan on Tuesday. It’s Gio’s birthday tomorrow which means there will probably be cake, so I should stick around. I’ll buy a charger for my laptop when I get to Milan so I can be part of the world again. A day alone in my apartment without my computer was bloody bizarre. It was like a dose of reality. I got so much (baking) done. I don’t much care for it.

I got to talk to Uncle Roy and Zia Fran on the phone today. Also Lucia. Apparently she said “Hello Nicola, I love you” but I mostly got “aahsbhgzhahhh”.

Okay I’m done. Missin’ y’all, obviously.

Hey Alypants,

You’re officially behind but I know that it’s because of Panto production week-and-a-bit and you’re not feeling well, and I’ve missed two deadlines before so I’ll forgive it.

Here’s the last Barcelona recap. I lied it’s in three parts not four.

It’s getting ruddy cold here. Not as cold as it was in Bardonecchia (-13ish, it got to) where I was ‘skiing’ (read: looking at mountains and having sore feet), but cold enough to have sore teeth when you go outside. It’s snowing right now and has been all day :).

Last week I took two wee day trips in two days- to Lecco, a town that is smaller than Como but is on Lake Como and is lovely, then Bergamo which I discovered to be comprised of 50% Christmas Market. Both were rad. In Lecco I had a coffee with chestnuts in it. IN IT. Ridonk. In Bergamo I had a giant pretzel with walnuts in/on it. Om nom.

This video is PACKED WITH LEARNINGS. The editing of this took a long time. Enjoy the pictures. For your interest’s benefit I actually cut bits out this time. So you miss out on me talking about the nachos story. That’s what you get for complaining about the detail. You’ll never know the nachos story.

Christmas panto!

To follow up from your first crazy long Barcelona recap, I bring you a crazy long documentation of yesterday’s rehearsal for Princess and the Pea! It was our first day of no scripts (kinda) and all sort of tomfoolery went down in theĀ absenceĀ of a few cast members, an extra scene and the fact that it took place on a Sunday morning. Also I kept turning the camera off just as something hilarious happened so we had to recreate some moments a few times, and people got into the habit of cheering when I actually caught something the first time around. I tried not to include too many spoilers, enjoy!

Just can’t seem to STFU

So I finally filmed my Barcelona recap video this evening, but I ended up talking for a total of 45 minutes. A lot of rambling/tangent/um crap takes up this time, but I decided that those of you who just can’t get enough of my magnificent face and voice may have the pleasure of seeing all of it. Therefore I shall be uploading it in four parts. It takes ages to edit with photos like I am for this, so be patient with me.

For those of you who don’t really give a crap but vaguely want to know about my trip, after posting all of the ~uncut~ version I’ll do a heavily edited one of highlights so you get all of the gist and none of the endearing awkwardness. And less interesting facts. What a shame for you.

So here we have: Part 1. Including the airport, language fun, large things, tapas!, the macarena, churros, street beer, and not much else.
